Expedition Guide Academy (Outwardly Bound Ltd) Terms and Conditions
 
1. Introduction
1.1 The EGA's terms and conditions apply to all our services, including online and in-person courses and assessments. 
1.2 The terms and conditions apply to all participants, students, individuals and companies/operators booking a service with us.
​1.3 By booking with us, you agree to these terms, so please read them carefully.

2. Definitions
​  2.1. "EGA" refers to Expedition Guide Academy.
  2.2. "Course" refers to any course, service or assessment delivered by the EGA.
  2.3. "Participant" or "student" refers to the individual or organisation that has enrolled in the course. This also includes any individual attending the course through an employer or third-party sponsor.
  2.4. "Learning Materials" include any printed, electronic, or digital resources provided by EGA, either in-person or online, as part of the course.

3. Online Courses & Online Assessments Cancellation Policy
  3.1. Cancellations within 14 days of booking: Full refund minus a USD $200 administration fee.
  3.2. Cancellations after 14 days of booking: 100% non-refundable.
  3.4. In the event of cancellation by EGA, a full refund will be issued.

4. In-Person Courses & In-Person Assessments Cancellation Policy
  4.1. 90 days or more before the course: Full refund minus a USD $200 administration fee.
  4.2. 31 to 90 days before the course: 50% of the course fee. This includes bookings made 31 to 90 days before the course.
  4.3. Within 30 days of the course: No refund.
  4.4. No refund for bookings/payments made within 30 days of the course start.
 
5. Course Changes and Cancellations by Expedition Guide Academy
  5.1. Courses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. A refund will be issued by the EGA. EGA is not responsible for reimbursing participants for any other costs, including, but not limited to, travel costs, insurance fees, or equipment purchases required for the course. Thus, a "cancel for any reason" insurance policy is recommended.
  5.2. Courses may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances up to 0 days before the start. EGA reserves the right to cancel a course due to reasons or circumstances beyond its control, including force majeure. EGA will not be able to offer a refund in such cases, thus, we recommend "cancel for any reason" insurance policies for all participants. EGA is not responsible for reimbursing participants for any additional costs, including but not limited to travel expenses, insurance fees, or equipment purchases required for the course. 
  5.3. EGA reserves the right to alter the training schedule, substitute instructor(s), or update course materials.​

6. Travel Insurance Requirement
  6.1. All participants must obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical coverage, and emergency repatriation.
  6.2. We recommend "cancel for any reason" insurance policies.
  6.3. EGA highly encourages participants to purchase insurance covering activities such as driving and being a passenger (in a 50 HP powerboat/Zodiac).
  6.4. Please note that EGA cannot advise you regarding insurance selection.

7. Liability and Risk Disclosure
  7.1. Participation involves inherent risks associated with physical activities and expeditions.
  7.2. The EGA is not liable for personal injuries, death, or property damage incurred during the course.
  7.3 Participants will be required to sign a Limitation of Liability document in order to participate in the Comprehensive Guide Course and the EGA Comprehensive PTGA assessment. This will be done in person during the course introduction. 
 7.4 Participants will be required to sign a waiver issued by the shooting range in order to participate in the Polar Bear Safety & Firearm Handling course. This will be done in person before entering the shooting cinema.
  7.5. Participants are responsible for their travel arrangements and must stay informed about travel restrictions.
 
​​​8. Participant Agreement
  8.1. Participants must be physically fit and prepared for the course's demands.
  8.2. Participants booking the Comprehensive Guide Course where assessments are offered following the training agree to book the assessment as well and cannot participate in the Comprehensive Guide Course otherwise.
  8.3. The EGA reserves the right to alter schedules due to weather or other events.
  8.4. Instructors may cancel activities for safety concerns without refunds for missed parts.
  8.5. Participants in the Polar Bear Safety & Firearm Handling course (PBS courses) must provide EGA with a current, official, clean criminal record before the course starts, no later than 1 month out from course start. The participant can only use the shooting cinema/shooting range during the course if such paperwork is provided in due time.
  8.6. The above cancellation and refund policies apply, and no exceptions will be given should, for any reason, the criminal record not be submitted in time.
  8.7. The range cannot instruct any member of a nation with whom Denmark is in conflict.​
 
9. Leaning Materials
  9.1. Any learning materials provided by EGA are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced, shared, or used for any other purpose than that of the course for which they were received without prior written permission by EGA.

10. Data Protection and Privacy
  10.1. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with data protection laws.

11. Governing Law
  11.1. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
​
12. Acceptance of Terms
  12.1. By booking a course, participants agree to these terms and conditions.​
